Data and Climate Change meet in Paris, but that’s not all

The next RDA Plenary Meeting will be held from 23-25 September 2015 in Paris – France. The Plenary will feature a special focus on research data for climate change while continuing to drive the adoption of the RDA group outputs that tangibly accelerate progress for global data sharing and increase data-driven innovation. There are a number of opportunities and activities taking place, a few highlights here:

E-Infrastructures & RDA for Data Intensive Science - pre-RDA plenary workshops, 22nd Sept 2015 focusing on 5 different streams:

  1. Data and computing infrastructures to explore the Human Brain,
  2. Data and computing infrastructures for open scholarship,
  3. Service orientation to data and high-performance computing infrastructures
  4. Research Data infrastructures for Environmental related Societal Challenges
  5. Data & Computing infrastructures for Global Linguistic Resources

Early Career European Researchers & Scientists working with Data Travel Bursaries: RDA Europe is offering travel and subsistence support to Early Career European Researchers & Scientists working with Data to attend the Plenary meeting. The aim of this programme is to introduce European Early Career researchers & scientists to RDA, highlight what data scientists / practitioners are doing, leverage on Early Career Researchers & Scientists knowledge to support Plenary 6 activities and support the Working Group and Interest Group activities. (Deadline for Submission: 11th July)

RDA Plenary 6 Climate Change Data Challenge: Enterprises and not only are invited to use open datasets to address real and developing problems emerging from rapid climate change. More details at (Final solution submission: 31st August 2015)

RDA Plenary 6 Experimentation Day is dedicated to startups, SMEs, enterprise  that wish to  showcase their solutions, products or services based on data to an audience of over 500 global data practitioners (Deadline for Submission: 15th July)
