EUDAT invited research infrastructure and community representatives, domain researchers, community managers and data managers to attend its User Forum, which took place at the NH Leonardo da Vinci Hotel, via dei Gracchi, Rome, 3-4 February 2016. Over 130 attendees were present experiencing two days of interesting presentations and discussions relating to all things data.

Service orientation has always been at the core of EUDAT’s strategy and the event focused on users from multiple disciplines with research data management needs. EUDAT offers a series of pan-European research data solutions (replication, preservation, publication, staging).

These service areas, Data synchronisation & exchange, Data replication & preservation, Data discovery & search, Data repository & (long tail) data sharing, Data staging for analysis & processing, Data typing & visualization, New services or tools in the area of Big Data Analytics and / or in the area of Semantic web, were discussed in the context of research domains with a focus on the domain specific and cross disciplinary requirements.
