The EOSC Symposium 2023 was recently held in Madrid, Spain and saw a strong presence from the EUDAT Collaborative Data Infrastructure (EUDAT CDI), as one of the priority initiatives it supports.

The EUDAT CDI was one of the exhibitors highly visible at the EOSC Symposium Exhibition. At the booth, members of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) community had the opportunity to engage with the EUDAT Secretariat and learn more about the research data management services offered by the EUDAT CDI. The booth also showcased the collaboration and benefits of membership.

Among those present at the EOSC Symposium included EUDAT CDI Executive Board Chair Jos van Wezel accompanied by Board Members Maria Francesca Iozzi (SIGMA2), Damien Lecarpentier (CSC), Daniel Mallman (FZJ) and Themis Zamani (GRNET) as well as EUDAT User Board members Christian Pagé (Cerfacs) and Anca Hienola (Finnish Meteorological Institute). The EUDAT Secretariat was represented by EUDAT CDI Technical Coordinator Mark van de Sanden (SURF) and Outreach Coordinator Rob Carrillo (Trust-IT). Also present were members of the EUDAT Council.

Various EUDAT figures featured across several sessions. EUDAT CDI Technical Coordinator Mark van de Sanden shared the insights of EUDAT and the DICE project in providing services for the EOSC Portal Marketplace during the EOSC Marketplace session. Meanwhile, in the session Persistent identifiers (PIDs), Themis Zamani and Tibor Kalman presentedImportance of PIDsin the context of the EOSC implementation challenge and specifically highlighted the example of how EUDAT services B2HANDLE and B2INST can support researchers in using PIDs.

EOSC is just one of the initiatives EUDAT is supporting.
