Let's meet at: 13:30 - 17:00, Room: Sagres | 24 Jan 2018
Session Chair: Marjan Grootveld, DANS
Session Co-Chair: Shaun de Witt, Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (CCFE)
You can't miss it if you are a trainer and/or a Communications Officer from Research Infrastructures and e-Infrastructures

Objectives:

  • Gain an in-depth insight into how Research Infrastructures and e-Infrastructures engage potential users through training and other forms of communication
  • Identify good engagement and training practices with the potentiality to be scaled to the level required for the EOSC
  • Continue growing a Community of Practice for “EOSC trainers in the broad sense”

More info on the session:

e-Infrastructures like EUDAT, OpenAIRE, PRACE, EGI, as well as Research Infrastructures such as ERICs like CESSDA and campus-wide research support providers like in Goettingen invest considerable effort in transferring knowledge, for example to:

  • researchers, who want to adopt services provided by the e-Infrastructures and Research Infrastructures;
  • representatives of research communities and disciplines, who could act as mediators;
  • research support staff, aware of the need for 500.000 data stewards in the coming years wanting to play their part;
  • system administrators, who locally deploy/want to deploy services that are part of the Research Infrastructures.

This session on user engagement and training targets colleagues who want to share their experience in this broad area, with a view to collaboratively identifying training approaches to match the expected scale of collaboration in the European Open Science Cloud.
