The last two months have been pivotal for EUDAT as it has successfully set up EUDAT Ltd, a new company that will ensure EUDAT's sustainability. In addition, the EUDAT conference “Putting the EOSC vision into practice” took place in Porto gathering over 230 relevant stakeholders together. Aside from this a new video explaining the added-value in using B2FIND has been published as well as an article describing the new branded features added to B2SAFE. The first EOSC-hub Week has also been recently announced, and the EUDAT CDI is one of the key sponsors and contributors. Read more below!

EUDAT sets up new Ltd company to sustain its activities & services

EUDAT Ltd was formally established and registered as a limited liability company under Finnish law on 27 February 2018. The purpose of the new company is to operate on a non-profit making basis as the voice of European organisations working together as part of the  EUDAT Collaborative Data Infrastructure in order to provide services related to scientific and research data storage and lifecycle management.

Charting the course towards a concrete European Open Science Cloud: outcomes of the EUDAT Conference “Putting the EOSC vision into practice”

What does the EOSC vision mean in practice?  What are the key factors for its success? What is the role of research communities? EDI & EOSC: What are the common goals and how should they work together? These are few of the questions that the over 230 participants of the EUDAT’s Conference “Putting the EOSC vision into practice” strived to answer at the 3-day meeting held in Porto. The conference was opened by Augusto Burgueño Arjona, Head of Unit "eInfrastructure", DG CONNECT who presented EOSC as an important instrument to support the collaboration between e-Infrastructures & research infrastructures, and to promote open science: “EOSC has to be an inclusive ecosystem where horizontal and thematic service providers work together to meet the user needs”...

EUDAT CDI contributes to the first EOSC-hub week: join us in Malaga!

The EUDAT CDI will play a key role during the first EOSC-hub Week to be held this 16-20 April 2018 in Malaga, Spain. The early achievements of the EUDAT collaboration with EGI and Indigo DataCloud within the EOSC-hub project will be showcased. Additionally, EUDAT will organise and contribute to several sessions such as EUDAT Data Management Solutions for Communities, Coupling Data and HPC with EUDAT and PRACE, Data & Compute: Joint XDC-EUDAT-DEEP and eINFRA-21 initiatives and more. A new feature for B2SAFE: the Data Policy Manager (DPM) tool

B2SAFE is a robust, safe and highly available service which allows community and departmental repositories to implement data management policies on their research data across multiple administrative domains in a trustworthy manner. Recently, the EUDAT B2SAFE Service has been enhanced with the integration of the Data Policy Manager, a tool that provides data policy management functionality.
