What is DataCite
Register your DOIs with EUDAT DataCite Consortium
A DataCite consortium is a group of like-minded organizations that have come together to collectively participate in DataCite’s community and governance activities and use DataCite’s DOI services. Consortia are generally located in a single country or subject-based. Ιn EUDAT we follow the subject-based consortia. Organizations within a consortium can work with one or more repositories.
Who can Participate
EUDAT DataCite consortium is not limited to EUDAT CDI members.
- Organisations affiliated with EUDAT that operate a B2 service or a service based on EUDAT technology can make use of the Datacite DOI's under the EUDAT organization.
- EUDAT CDI members: EUDAT CDI members with a service that requires DOIs are eligible to make use of the DataCite DOI's under the EUDAT organization.
- Organizations from Projects / Periodicals from Projects: Organizations in projects, where EUDAT participates too, can join the EUDAT Datacite Consortium.
- Research performing organisations within the European Union / EEA can become a EUDAT DataCite member in the EUDAT Datacite Consortium.
A Review Team is ready to assess the requests and decide on the outcome of the request based on specific criteria.

Service fee
This fee consists of two components: an Organization Fee (500 € per year) and a tier-based DOI Fee. For the DOI Fee, we have 2 cases:
- For User will a small number of DOIs
For the institutions registering less than 500 DOIs, we use the FEE model (pays based on usage). - For User with number of DOIs > 500
For the institutions registering more than 500 DOIs, we use the CAP model
